VELLORE: Over 200 members of Joint Action Committee of Tamilnadu Teachers’ Organisation – Government Employees Organisation (JACTTO-GEO) on Thursday staged waiting protest in front of Vellore Collectorate pressing their demands.
The members were arrested and taken to a marriage hall in the city. After being released at 5pm, a section of the protesters marched towards the Collectorate and resorted to the waiting protest.
The members have been staging a series of protest demanding to repeal the contributory pension scheme, implement the eight pay commission recommendations and rectify the anomalies of the seventh pay commission.
