VELLORE: Regional Passport office, Chennai, will organise a special passport mela on Saturday at the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, Vellore.
The aim of the mela is to meet public demand and to facilitate submission of applications for frequent travellers due to the extended time in getting appointments, said a press statement from the Press Information Bureau.
The Passport Seva Kendra will accept applications as per time slots allotted to applicants on Saturday. Around 65 applicants are expected to benefit from the Mela.
Those who wish to participate in the mela, should log on to www.passportindia.gov.in, register, generate Application Registration Number (ARN), pay the fee online and take an appointment. They should bring a print out of the ARN with appointment details to the seva kendra, along with requisite documents in originals and a set of self-attested photocopies. Applications under fresh and re-issue categories only will be accepted, said the release.
The appointments would be released on Wednesday at 2.30pm. Walk-ins including on-hold and refused tokens will not be entertained, added the release.
